Small Business Consulting

At our firm, we take a comprehensive and methodical approach to problem-solving, particularly for small businesses. Our process involves delving deeply into the root of the problem, much like peeling back the layers of an onion.

To gain a thorough understanding of your business, we leave no stone unturned. We conduct extensive investigations, taking a layered approach to uncover the information we need. This involves engaging with various stakeholders, including owners, partners, and employees at all levels of your organization.

As we progress through this iterative process, we gradually peel back the layers to reveal the core of your business issues. Our goal is to develop a deep and nuanced understanding of the challenges you face, so we can provide targeted and effective solutions that address your specific needs.

At every step of the way, we maintain open and transparent communication with our clients, keeping them informed of our progress and findings. This approach enables us to develop a comprehensive and tailored plan of action that maximizes your chances of success.

Our services

At our consulting firm, we understand that business challenges can range from simple decisions to complex problems that require a deeper level of analysis. We offer a range of advisory services to help our clients navigate these challenges effectively.

For straightforward inquiries, our team is available to provide advice and insights to help you maximize your resources and make informed decisions. However, for more complex issues, we conduct a comprehensive analysis of your business operations to identify areas for improvement.

Our ultimate goal is to help you achieve the growth and success you aspire to. Our team of experts is equipped with the knowledge and expertise necessary to help you optimize sales, margins, and costs.

We believe that with our guidance and support, your business can reach new heights of success. Let us be your partner in lifting your business to its fullest potential.

  • During our Discovery sessions, we will conduct a thorough analysis of your business, with the ultimate goal of crafting a tailored growth plan that can enhance your revenue while controlling expenses and improving margins.

To initiate this process, we will schedule an in-person kick-off meeting at your corporate office, during which we will interview all business owners, partners, and stakeholders. Together, we will agree on the primary areas that require exploration and study.

Following the kick-off meeting, we will request detailed information pertaining to your business, including but not limited to financial statements, business structure, product reports, advertising spending, marketing communication materials, main competitor reports, sales reports, inventory, distribution, manufacturing, operations, staffing, and other relevant data.

Over several weeks, we will methodically analyze and scrutinize each layer of your business, gradually moving toward its core issues. Our goal is to gain a comprehensive understanding of your business and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

Upon completion of the discovery process, we will provide you with a set of actionable recommendations that your leadership team can implement to achieve your goals.

  • First, we conduct interviews with employees at various levels of the company, including the finance, accounting, sales, and marketing teams, to collect data and gain a thorough understanding of the revenue potential over the next two years.

Second, we evaluate the organization's capabilities and assess its current fitness level. We identify any potential gaps that need to be addressed by the management team.

Third, we develop an achievable roadmap for increasing revenue. This involves identifying the necessary building blocks for success and creating a timeline with various paths for the future.

At the end of the workshop week, we meet with the owners and senior leadership of the company to share our preliminary findings and co-create any missing components that need further development. We then collaborate to agree on the next steps for the organization's growth.

  • We offer a three-hour, in-person Q&A consulting session at your corporate office to help you brainstorm and find solutions to a particular situation. During this session, we will ask you relevant questions, offer suggestions, and recommend action items.

Think of this session as you would when you call a friend to ask for their advice over lunch or coffee. The Q&A one-on-one meeting can be with you and/or your leadership team, and it is a casual, conversational setting. Our partner will visit you at your corporate office or flagship store, so you can access any necessary information during the session.

At the Q&A session, you will lead the meeting and debrief us on the challenges and obstacles you're facing with your business. We encourage you to have specific questions and relevant information available for review during the session. Our partner will provide answers to the best of their ability. Please note that the quality of the ideas and recommendations we provide will depend on the quality of information we receive and the amount of time we have with your team.

We recommend that you take meeting notes, as our modest fee does not include the preparation or delivery of any written business summary, meeting minutes, or discovery report after the session. If you require a written detailed report, we recommend selecting the Discovery Consulting service instead of the Brain-Picking Session.
